A series of compositions and improvisations recorded in the Sonoran Desert in the second year of the Long War, just before we invaded Iraq. The album can be thought of as one piece, bookended by two works. The first was a piece I composed for a good friends installation piece as part of her senior project in art school. The last is a piece I wrote when I was a student of composition. The cover artwork is heavily influenced by Stephan Micus's Desert Poems, which I listened to a great deal during the postproduction of this album.
